August Income Report

Posted on August 31st, 2010 in Earning Updates | No Comments »

Last post for this month. This month the internet sales were down in general and I too had a poor month :(   First up, the income breakdown for the month of August 2010:

Click Bank – $170.29
Health Networks – $25.39
Adsense – $27.07
Amazon – $6.02

Grand Total: $228.77

Lost most of my rankings through this month, but for the past 2 weeks making a comeback into the SERPS. I have realised that being on page one is just not enough. I have observed on my sites that anything after position 4 does not get any traffic which equates to no sales.

Sites that are in top 3 for even just 1 week will bring in a few sales. Since quite a few sites are new hence the ranking was there in the last month…lost in August and now slowly getting back up. Looks like the next 2 months will be un-stable with regards to Google positions and then settle down towards the end of the year, which is good because most of my niches cover new-years resolutions :)

Indulged in a lot of domain buying this month, mostly with PR, backlinks and age to use in my blog network (which is growing stronger) for building links. Picked up some really good domains PR 4 and above!

In September, I will be trying out the Google Optimizer to test and increase conversion rates on my affiliate blogs, because I have been getting the traffic, its just not converting that well!

Will try to increase the post frequency on this blog and I will try to provide some tutorials for you guys.

Player or Spectator

Posted on August 16th, 2010 in Rants | No Comments »

I was reading a magazine which had an article about how people lead their life in terms of being a player or a spectator. This article resembled internet marketing like it is today. A lot of people who want to make web inco.me are just spectators. Reading sales pages after sale page, email after email from internet goorus. Salivating at their screenshots and “video proofs” of earnings that make you want to purchase product after product, letting it sit on your HDD and then think it will make you money. They would then go to a IM product review forum and post that the product doesn’t work, or simply watch other people apply the product and make money and wonder what is that they bought along with the product that helped them *magic bullet*. This is the spectator mentality. Building links, writing and submitting articles, registering on forums for profile links, social bookmarking are some of the most boring and mundane tasks but they are what will give you results, but this is what people don’t want to do.  Who said making money online was easy.

Before you jump online to buy the next-best-all-in-one-seo-that-nuke’s-search-engine program, learn how the IM and SEO systems work. These programs are just to make life easier, but if you don’t know what they do then you will never be able to know why they can work and why won’t they work.

The player mentality is getting down and dirty with the most boring and menials tasks that internet marketing is about. It is about learning the systems yourself and then teaching someone else to do it for you (outsourcing). I taught a few friends simple things to do to start making money online, but they couldn’t stick to it coz, it was too much manual labor! The fact is everyone wants it easy, it is the spectator mentality that pulls most people down. And one of the highlights of spectator mentality is not wanting to do the hard yakka!

What do you think?

Promoting Low Gravity Clickbank Products?

Posted on August 9th, 2010 in Whats New | No Comments »

I had picked up a WSO a few months back about promoting low gravity products on Clickbank. The video course went into details of how to find a profitable product that makes you sales which is usually between $17 t0 $25.

It gave me a new perspective on how to find good products. So, I found 10 products, got the reviews written and posted to a blog of mine.

I decided to find out which product makes me money and then possibly put up a whole site dedicated to that product itself. This way I can save money on buying a domain in case the product does not sell well.

Though I noticed something. These products have low competition in google. They are affiliates with dedicated sites to these product and beating them should not be a problem.

I will post an update on this experiment hopefully by the end of month if the pages start ranking and make some money.

Till then.

HTML to Wordpress Migration: Lesson Learned

Posted on August 7th, 2010 in General | 2 Comments »

Today, I had a look at one of the sites that I had converted from HTML to Wordpress. Found that I had missed a few pages so I had to re-do some 301 re-directions. Learned an important lesson that will help you if are stuck.

Problem 1: When ever a new post is made, it will give a 404 error!

Solution: First, When ever you make a post and add a 301 redirect to it from an old HTML page in your site, you ALWAYS need to update your perma-link structure, for every single post, every single time. I wasted 2 hours trying to figure this out.  Talk about being determined ;)

Second, after you have posted everything, go to your php MyAdmin in cPanel, and do a repair DB. This will just go through an fix any errors that you had and generally refresh the wordpress database.

Hope this will help you in case you decide to migrate HTML to WP.

Indexing for this site has been good. I have not checked the traffic stats but Adsense is down for this site. Need to do run a SENUKE blast for this one!

July Overview: August – Here I Come

Posted on July 30th, 2010 in Earning Updates | 3 Comments »

Haven’t posted anything for a long time now…almost a month. This was my first month of working full time as a SEO specialist. Learnt a lot in my first month  itself. From the targets set last month, I could manage to only transfer one HTML site to a Wordpress blog. The work involved in re-direction and fiddling with htaccess file is too much. Though it has been successfully ported. Still trying to focus on getting my Adsense sites ranking.

Earnings:

This month has been by far the best in years. Finally things have started to happen and trust me it is addictive.  I had 2 $100 days this month, so pretty much the entire month it was spread out. The totals this month were:

Adsense: $ 39.43
Amazon: $ 16.67
Clickbank: $ 219.61
Health Networks: $ 150.31

Grand  total of: $ 426.02

That is a huge growth for me considering that I have been doing this for a long time and by doing I mean looking for the next magic bullet/scheme/ebook/software/course/WSO to make me money. Finally, I realized that the only thing that can make you web inco.me is TAKING MASSIVE ACTION. I know this is what is said in every forum but I guess its a mental block that one has to overcome in order to really make it big. I am working 4 days a week and get about 3 days to work on my IM business which I feel is good. I am on the lookout for a VA to work for me to do for me like submission / link wheels etc.

Found a few good tricks for getting good authority links and working to build backlinks to my health review blogs.

POA for August:

Target for August is to try and cross $500 in income.

Setup my blog network that I have been trying to setup.

Create at least 20 affiliate websites and start an authority website for Adsense.

Continue to promote existing sites.

Post regularly to this blog (at least 1 post per week)

Personally, missed my home a lot this month, since it was big change for me from being a student to 7 months to un-employment to an almost full-time job that I actually like and pays decently well for working 4 days a week. I wish I could go home and play with my dog Vodka, miss him sooo much.

Looking forward to killing it in August!

July:Month of Adsense

Posted on July 8th, 2010 in Whats New | No Comments »

June has been the best month for me in terms of productivity and income. Finally things are looking up and the start to July has been good too!

Running SENUKE on my laptop and home PC, trying to get most out of it. Also, forming a decent team of outsourced writers and submitters. I have decided to focus on Adsense this month, need to take the daily income to double digit which is not the case now.

Moving 2 of my biggest HTML Adsense based sites to Wordpress hoping that I will be able to maintain the rankings and traffic. I have decided to pump more content into these 2 sites and make them authority sites. Plus, give a backlink boost to my other 12 sites based on xFactor’s Adsense Course.

Lets see how it goes.
